A brand new dwelling for Toledo Early School college students

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) -Toledo Public Schools welcomes its Toledo Early College High School students to a new learning environment.

The district moved TECHS to the newly renovated Driscoll Center through a partnership with the University of Toledo. The high school was previously located on UT’s Scott Park campus, but a new long-term lease was signed in 2019. Since then, the Driscoll Center has undergone a $ 3.5 million renovation funded by both UT and TPS.

“We are delighted that our students at Toledo Early College are not only learning in person, but are returning to a new and beautifully modernized facility,” said Dr. Romules Durant, TPS superintendent. “This place puts students right on campus, which further immerses them in the college experience. We continue to be grateful for our partnership with UToledo on behalf of TPS and its students.

TPS and UT officials will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Driscoll Center on Wednesday. TECHS students moved into the building for the first time last month.
