CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A 66-year-old woman is recovering at home after being shot dead in broad daylight in Cleveland’s Detroit Shoreway neighborhood.
A bullet went straight through her abdomen, the police and emergency services reported.
“I heard about 10 or 15 shots and I walked in and she came in the door holding on to the side,” her husband told 19 News Thursday. “She’s still in a lot of pain, but is better.”
He said she just stepped outside to let her dogs out.

A United States Postal Service truck was also hit by gunfire during the Monday afternoon shooting at block 7700 on Elton Avenue.
The postman was not hit, but according to a police dispatcher, he ducked into cover next to the truck during the hand-to-hand combat.
“The past three years have just gotten worse,” said the victim’s husband of the violence.
According to a police report, a neighbor watched the shooting. She said an armed man opened fire on an occupied car and asked the driver to leave the vehicle and return fire.
Both witnesses and the victim’s family suspected that the shooters were teenagers, possibly teenagers.
No arrests were made.
