A national warrant has been issued against a Toledo man accused of destroying a hotel room in Northwood.

James Tramell Watkins, 23, was charged with vandalism in September.

He did not appear for a final pre-conference on Monday. Wood County Common Pleas Judge Molly Mack issued the warrant.

Watkins was in charge of two teenagers on August 16 when the three allegedly damaged a room at the Bridgepoint Inn, 2600 Lauren Lane, Northwood. A hotel worker called the police after the trio checked out and heard running water in the room. Upon entering, the staff found the room in a mess.

There was food all over the walls and furniture, the sink was broken and leaking, which, according to police reports, caused water to flood the room. Furniture was thrown across the room and a lamp and mirror were broken.

According to police reports, Watkins was held responsible for the youth and the room after their mother was arrested that night on an independent warrant.

The vandalism charge is a fourth degree crime.
