HAMILTON, miss. (WTVA) – A Columbus man died Thursday evening after being injured in an accident in Monroe County that day.
Alan Gurley, Monroe County coroner, says Carlos Draper, 21, of Columbus, died at University Medical Center in Jackson.
The crash occurred around 9:05 a.m. on Highway 45 in Hamilton, half a mile north of Hamilton Road.
According to Gurley, Draper collided with a truck while driving south.
Doctors took him first to the Columbus hospital and then to the Jackson hospital.
The coroner says Draper didn’t wear a seat belt.
Gurley doesn’t know if the accident injured the other driver.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
