On February 16, 2021, Tuesday evening, we lost an amazing woman, Guadalupe Toledo-Vera. She was only 50 years old and a child at heart. She died at the RML Specialty Hospital in Hinsdale, where she was recovering from heart failure and calciphatic disease. Guadalupe was born on July 23, 1970 in Chicago, Illinois, to Victor and Diana Toledo. She is survived by four siblings, Diana (Zvika), Victor, Theresa and Ana (Jesus) Toledo. She graduated from Kelvyn Park High School and earned a degree in phlebotomy. On March 17, 2000, she was married to Jose Manuel Vera and had a beautiful wedding ceremony in Guadalajara, Mexico. They first met when he came to see a handyman at their home in Joliet, Illinois, and he convinced her to go out with him to pay back the work. They fell in love and were each other’s soulmates. Two beautiful daughters raised together, Ariana and Miranda Vera. She loved her daughter’s very dearly and was very proud of her. She worked at the University of Chicago Hospital. She loved the medical field and enjoyed helping people. She had a special gift for making people laugh. She believed in God and was an active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
She loved her family with passion and is survived by her nieces and nephews; Alyssia, Cody, Sherkier, Joshua, Benjamin, Tal, Sawyl, Sawyer, Caleb, Riley, and Emiliano. She gave us the best memories and will always be remembered as a shining star.
