Nancy James Angin, 84, of Toledo, Ohio, died peacefully on Thursday, June 10, 2021. Nancy was born on August 30, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to James and Maria (Gugushis) Angin, who preceded her in death . Nancy graduated from Woodward High School and attended the University of Toledo. Nancy’s 32-year career with the City of Toledo began on May 25, 1961. During this period, Nancy had many of the “first” in her varied careers. Started out as Secretary to the Mayor, Michael J. Damas, and then John. W. Potter. She was the first person to become secretary of Toledo City Council; the first person to become head of the Toledo City Word Processing Center; the first person to hold the title of Administrative Assistant to Mayor Donna Owens, serving under Mayor John McHugh until her retirement.

Nancy was a very dedicated member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral, sang in the church choir, member of St. Anna’s Ladies Guild, board member and treasurer. When Nancy wasn’t at work or at church, she enjoyed gardening and flowers.

Survivors are her sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Stanley Pentsos; Goddaughter Maria Riveron. Also surviving relatives in Canada and Europe.

The visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 738 Glenwood Road, Rossford, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Trisagion service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16 at 11:00 a.m., where the family greets friends from 10:00 a.m. The burial takes place in the Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those wishing to express their condolences in memory of Nancy are asked to consider the St. George Orthodox Cathedral OCA. Arrangements by Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Homes.
