Kody Clemens returns to Toledo

The Detroit Tigers got some help from the former Toledo mud hen catcher Eric Haase yesterday in their victory over the Chicago White Sox. Kody Clemens’ return to the Mud Hens lineup propelled Toledo to victory, and Riley Greene and Ryan Kreidler go back to back in Akron.

Triple-A: Toledo Mud Chickens (13-15)

The Mud Hens broke a 1-1 draw in their fifth game with three runs and that was the difference in their 6-1 win over Memphis to break a three-game losing streak. Clemens Codes, who rehabilitated with that Lakeland Flying TigersHe got two of the three RBIs in the fifth with a triple.

Drew Hutchinson pitched six strong innings, allowed a run with four hits, and knocked out seven. Buck farmer and Miguel Del Pozo pitched three scoreless innings of relief, allowing only one hit.

Yariel Gonzalez scored his seventh home run of the season and Isaac Paredes and Daz Cameron both went 4-1. Paredes showed off his glove again for the second night in a row, this time at Shortstop.

Double-A Erie Sea Wolves: (18-10)

Riley Greene and Ryan Krielder started the game with two solo shots to give Erie a quick 2-0 lead, but Akron hit back with three runs in the third and added three more in the fifth to break away and the rubber ducks won 8 5.

High-A West Michigan Whitecaps: (16-12)

Bryant Packard returned to the line-up for the first time in seven games because of a sore groin, as reported by Dan Hasty, and got one hit, but the Whitecaps got an 11-0 shutout. Spencer Torkelson left a pair of singles 2-3 that day, including one from LA Dodgers’ first round, Bobby Miller.

Low-A Lakeland Flying Tigers (13-15)

The Flying Tigers lost 12-3 to Tampa. Joey Wentz on his third rehab start, fought, allowed six runs on nine hits and hit six.

Nick Quintana had a double and Alvaro Gonzalez went 3-1 in his third game as Flying Tiger. Andrew Navigato’s two-time home run in the seventh inning provided the two runs for Lakeland.
