Columbus police concerned in capturing in South Linden

The Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation is called in to investigate a Columbus police gunfight on Tuesday afternoon in South Linden.

At around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, a shooting was reported near the intersection of Homestead Drive and Clinton Streets.

Police said they received a call from the 2200 block on Homestead Drive at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from a neighbor who had reported an emergency in the house next door.

When the officers arrived, one person ran away from home. It was not immediately clear at what point any gunshots might have been fired by the police and whether the suspect had been beaten.

According to radio traffic, police officers were looking for a suspect in the area and that suspect was arrested at around 1:55 pm. The suspect was described as lying outside a house to be examined by paramedics.

According to the Columbus Department of Police Policy, the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation will be called to investigate the incident.
