COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – With classes starting in a few days, hundreds of Muscogee County students will have brand new shoes to start the new school year.
The New Destiny Church in Columbus held their third shoe competition “Soles for School” over the weekend. Church members along with other ward members donated money to help fund this relief effort.
They selected some students from the Downtown Elementary Magnet Academy and Davis Elementary as incentives to complete the summer study program.
Pastor Quin Hardnett says they were able to hand out more than 300 pairs of shoes.
