Cleveland Municipal Court docket officer charged with rape after alleged assault at Justice Middle

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A Cleveland City Court official was charged with rape following an alleged incident at the Justice Center in July.

An arrest warrant was issued against Zino Kirby, 50, last week.

According to court and prison records, he was not taken into custody late Monday afternoon.

“[The] The defendant used his position in Cleveland City Court to sexually abuse and expose the victim [himself], and the use of force in the commission of the crime, ”wrote a Cleveland police detective in his application for a high loan filed with the bailiff’s office.

Kirby is accused of assaulting a woman in her mid-twenties in his office at the Justice Center.

The woman, who works for a social organization outside the courthouse, told detectives she was there to collect materials related to her work.

According to public records, Kirby works as an investigative officer.

“[Kirby] grabbed the victim by the back of the head [and] pulled the victim by the hair, ”wrote the detective.

He said the woman told investigators that Kirby tried to force her into a sexual act.

The attack ended, she said, when a delivery came in at Kirby’s office.
