The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will open their home table in Week 2 in 2021 when they welcome the Toledo Rockets to South Bend. The game is scheduled for Saturday, September 11th and begins at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

Toledo (1-0) managed to make Norfolk State easy with an inaugural 49-10 win on Saturday. Quarterback DeQuan Finn was more effective on the ground, charging for 82 yards and nine carries and one touchdown. Wide receiver Devin Maddox was the definition of a big play threat, with two receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown.

Notre Dame survived a dramatic encounter in Tallahassee on Sunday night with a 41-38 overtime win over Florida State. Quarterback Jack Coan was 26-35 for 366 yards with four touchdowns and one interception, but AND had intermittent difficulty running the ball with only 35 carries for 65 yards. There have also been many questionable attacks on the defense that head coach Brian Kelly wants to have cleared up before Week 2.
