three subway riders robbed at gunpoint close to Columbus Circle: cops


Police said three subway straphangers were robbed at gunpoint on Sunday night aboard a Manhattan train near a busy Midtown station.

Two thieves targeted the trio of young men aged 16, 17 and 20 on board a southbound express train that was approaching 59th Street / Columbus Circle station around 8:50 pm, police said.

One of the suspects showed a gray Glock pistol and the crooks stole an iPhone and two bags from the victims, according to police and sources.

Police said none of the victims were injured.

The suspects fled the car and were still wanted late on Sunday.
