Suspect killed in officer-involved capturing in emergency room space of Columbus hospital – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A suspect was killed by police at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital following an incident in the hospital emergency room, Columbus police said.

Officials called for assistance at the hospital where the suspect was being treated after he passed out. The suspect had arrest warrants for domestic violence and weapons with a disability, police said.

The shooting took place shortly after 2:20 p.m. and no one was injured but the suspect.

“The building is safe,” said police in a statement.

Officials from the Columbus Police Department and St. Ann’s security team were with the suspect when the shooting occurred.

The suspect’s name has not been released and it is unclear how many officers could have fired their guns.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was hired to conduct the investigation into the shooting.
