Scott A. Senci, 63 years old, died suddenly on June 22, 2021. He was born on February 13, 1958 in Toledo to Charles “Chuck” and Janet (Mierzejewski) Senci. He was the only child and the light in his parents’ life. He grew up in South Toledo and attended OLPH through elementary school. Scott graduated from St. John’s Jesuit High School in 1976 and was a very proud alumnus who continued to support many SJJ sports and activities until his death. After high school he attended the University of Toledo, or as he still called it, “TU”. During his time at the “TU” he was a brother of the SAE brotherhood. Scott developed friendships from both St. Johns and SAE that he held in high esteem until the end of his life.

After attending the University of Toledo, he embarked on a lifelong career in the insurance industry, particularly in the union and labor sectors. He loved his job and taught his interest in the union sector to his late father. He began his career with the American Income Life Insurance Company. He then worked in sales for the McLaughlin Company from 1986 to 1991. During this time he married Susan Sanderson and they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where they lived until 1993. After accepting a new position with Union Labor Life Insurance Company, they moved to Canton, Michigan. Scott spent 14 years at Union Labor Life working his way up to Vice President of Sales for the Midwest and West Regions. He later had the opportunity to return to Toledo, Ohio and was able to return home with his family in 2002. In 2005 he moved as Vice President of Sales in the Taft Hartley Division and later as Dental Sales to Cigna Healthcare Manager in the Taft Hartley Division, where he ended his career at the beginning of the year.

Scott always had a smile on his face that lit up a room, and he had never met a stranger before. He had charisma and a welcoming character and was always able to “work in space”. His kids are still joking that there is nowhere they can go in Toledo without Dad knowing someone there or making new friends. He really valued his family and friendships and always checked in to make sure everyone was happy and looked after. He had recently bought his parents’ house, where he looked forward to many “chutneys” and shared new memories with family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, watching sports, going to live local music, and playing golf. He spent many days on the golf course or enjoyed a game of gin at Highland Meadows, where he had been a member for 18 years. He really lived life to the fullest and made sure that he enjoyed and shared his experiences with others.

His daughter Elizabeth Ashley survived; Son and daughter-in-law Scott Charles and Ashley (Lock) Senci; and 2 wonderful grandchildren, Oakley and Ryden Senci. In addition, the loving mother of his children and eternal friend Susan Sanderson survived; many cousins ​​who were like his siblings and their children who were like his “nieces and nephews”. In death he was preceded by his parents, Chuck and Janet Senci, whom he missed dearly, and we have consolation that they are reunited.

Scott’s Life Celebration takes place on Monday, June 28, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Urbanski Funeral Home a Life Celebration Home 5055 Secor Rd. Toledo, Ohio 43623. The funeral service begins on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home under the direction of Deacon Thomas Sheehan.

Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the Toledo Junior Golf Association or St. John’s Jesuit High School on Scott’s behalf.
