Robert “Bob” Legenza

September 30, 1943 – May 19, 2021

Robert “Bob” Legenza of Columbus died on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Columbus Community Hospital.

The memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 27th at 2 p.m. at Bellwood United Methodist Church. The tour takes place on Wednesday, May 26th, from 5pm to 8pm at the McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. The burial takes place in Bellwood Cemetery with military honors from the Hartman Post # 84 American Legion Honor Guard.

Robert J. Legenza was born on September 30, 1943 in Columbus to Felix and Dorothy (Ciecior) Legenza. Bob served in the Army National Guard. He graduated from St. Bonaventure High School in 1962. Bob worked briefly at Hoessel Electric before becoming self-employed in 1973, owning and operating Legenza Electric, Inc. Bob married Carolyn Mais (Hadley) on May 26, 1973 at the Bellwood Methodist Church. Bob loved classic cars, horses, cows, his pets, and anything that wouldn’t talk back. Bob loved and valued all of his friends and customers very much.

Bob is survived by his Columbus wife, Carolyn M. Legenza; Son Rick (Debbie) Legenza of Bennington, Nebraska; Daughter Tiffany (Scott) Buckendahl of Glendale, Arizona; four grandchildren, Ashton, Avery, Nicole, and Zachary; Great-granddaughter Athena; Sister Joan (Gene) Wiebelhaus from Fremont; Brother Jim Legenza of Columbus; Brother William (Nancy) Legenza of Omaha; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were very special to him

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Felix “Boots” and Dorothy Legenza; and sister-in-law Linda Legenza.
