The man in the center of the gripping police body camera video says he is remorseful and happy to be alive. Tony Timberlake pulled a gun out of his car during a troubled scene on Hawaiian Terrace last month. Several children and police officers were in the immediate vicinity. Officer Deon Mack, one of several local Cincinnati police officers, saw the gun in his hand and drew his gun. “Hey! Put that shit down. Damn wrong with you !? Mack yelled. It stunned Timberlake, and he put the gun down. The Cincinnati Police Department said many less experienced officers fired their gun. “It’s like a flashback like Wow came back,” Timberlake said, explaining how he felt when he first saw the video. “I didn’t try not to hurt anyone. I was just trying to protect my family you know And I didn’t mean to shoot anyone. Just put it in my holster, come back and sit down. ”Police responded to a youngster throwing a brick through the house where Timberlake, his fiancé and several children live. “In response, his teen ran outside and grabbed one of the children and ambushed him. Then these children went and got their families and family friends.” explained Mack, guessing that the scene had quickly grown to several dozen people. “You almost made me and many others take your life,” Mack said in his body camera video to Timberlake. “And that would have been so unfair, not only to you, not only to your family, but also to us.” I’m sorry, ”Timberlake replied. He told WLWT that he had no intention of shooting anyone but wanted the gun with him for protection. It was not loaded. Mack said within seconds that he saw there was no magazine in the gun, but did not know if there was a bullet in the chamber. Mack said he was aware that several people at the crime scene threatened Timberlake and his family, saying they would return to their apartment once the police left. Timberlake has no criminal record, and he said his gun was legally registered. He doesn’t have a CCW permit. “The only real reason you’re on a hiatus is because I really have compassion for your family, and I have compassion for your family because if we get out of here they will need someone to protect them “I was just so grateful and thanked God he didn’t or they didn’t all shoot it,” said Sabrina Clark, Timberlake’s fiancé. “That would have literally killed me because he was here to help our family trying to protect us. “Clark watched the entire encounter, if a man pulls a gun you don’t know what that man is going to do,” she said. Mack said that after the scene had calmed down, she thanked him for sparing Timberlake’s life. Timberlake has been charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. He said he appreciated Mack and was glad he replied that day. “He’s a good person and he did his job. He made sure nothing happened,” he said. “He’s a good cop. If it wasn’t for him, you can’t tell what would happen.”
