COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Two Columbus firefighters were honored for their courage and actions in saving the life of an infant.
The Piedmont Columbus region named Benjamin Todd and Taylor Murrell their First Friday Heroes this month.
The two paramedics were called to an accident where a baby was suffering from shortness of breath.
When they arrived, they made the quick decision to have their father drive them to the hospital as the ambulance was a few minutes away.
“It’s definitely an appreciation for what we’re doing. We get a lot of community recognition, but getting someone to say that this group did an extremely good job means a lot, ”said Murrell.
Their actions helped the infant receive timely treatment.
