TOLEDO, Ohio – This weekend, you can experience everything you love about summer from the Lucas County Fair to a summer beach party in downtown Tecumseh, plus fun for your furry best friend at Go 419.
FRIDAY
2021 Lucas County Fair | Maumee | Every weekend
The Lucas County Fair runs all week and this weekend is your last chance to test it out for the season! Everything you love about the fair will be there, from food to animals, rides to games – you don’t want to miss the last days of the year.

Summer beach party | Downtown Tecumseh | 10 am
It’s summer and if you haven’t made it to the beach, let the beach in downtown Tecumseh come to you. Friday night is the summer beach party and you can come out and enjoy all the summer fun. From Friday to Saturday you can take part in all downtown activities including a cornhole tournament, a chalk competition on the sidewalk, a shopping raffle, a pet parade, the Tecumseh Fire Department’s pancake breakfast, vendor offers, a kids activity area, and much more.
There will be 25 TONS of sand in the city center that will be used to make five sand sculptures.
Try it! Archery | Glass City Metropark | 17:30
You can start your weekend in the heart of downtown and try something new. This is your chance to try archery in the Glass City Metropark. In this workshop you can get your first shot or even improve your existing archery skills.
All equipment is provided and you will be guided by Metropark staff. Don’t forget to wear closed shoes.

Pedaling Paddy’s Parking Lot Party & Glow Roll | Wersells bicycle shop | 5:30 pm-10:30pm
Brighten up your Friday night with this parking lot party and glow roll. The Toledo Irish American Club is partnering with Wersell’s Bike Shop for the event, which takes place at 5:30 p.m., and they will have beer for sale as well as the We Be Ribs food truck. The Toledo Firefighters Pipes and Drums will perform before the Glow Roll ride begins at 7:45 p.m.
For those taking part in the Glow Roll, it will be roughly a 12 mile drive and an hour and a half, but hey, if all you want to do is hang out, feel free to do that too!
Kool & the Gang concert | Promenade Park | 6:15 pm
The Promenade Summer Concert Series is back after a year of COVID-related hiatus and Toledo is happy about it. You can spend this Friday night downtown jamming to Kool and the Gang and experiencing some other great activities they will have there including eating at various food trucks.
SATURDAY
Farmer’s Market and Upcycle Event | Downtown Fremont | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This weekend, head to downtown Fremont for this farmers market and recycling event. Visit different vendors and buy locally grown produce. While you’re there, you can go on a scavenger hunt and learn about upcycling, reusing, and reusing.
Dog days of summer | Thayer Chevrolet | 11 clock
We’re in the dog days of summer so why not celebrate our four-legged friends this weekend? Take your buddy or best friend to Thayer Chevrolet at Bowling Green for treats, toys, and other fun things to do, including dog-friendly art. You also get coupons and discounts for local pro-friendly places and free hot dog lunches for people.
Celebrate Dundee down by the river | Dundee | 13 o’clock
Celebrate Dundee down by the river this Saturday. Come out and enjoy a full day of different activities. You will have live entertainment from the Viva Dance Company, various games like a corn hole tournament, food trucks, bands and more. The evening ends with fireworks.
This event is completely FREE.
Summer Festival and Sagittarius’ | Oak shadow grove | 2 pm-10pm
Come to the Bavarian Sports Club’s Summer Festival Picnic on Saturday in Oak Shade Grove for a day of great food and activities. Get a taste of fantastic German food, beer, and entertainment. They’ll announce a scholarship winner and have multiple raffles to enter.
You have so much fun in store, admission is FREE and all the proceeds go to the Bavarian Sports Club Toledo.
Family movie night | Promenade Park | 17 o’clock
On Saturday night, take the kids downtown for a movie night at Promenade Park. This week’s film is the Disney classic “Beauty and the Beast” and will be shown on the big screen in the park.
There are a number of fun activities ahead of the performance, including meeting up with some characters from Laurel’s princess party. The kids can also play in the splash pad, get a Masquerades by Michelle balloon figurine, and grab a bite to eat at a food truck.
The film starts at 7 p.m.
SUNDAY
Audubon Islands Stand-up Paddleboard Eco Tour | Orleans Park | 3: 00-5: 30 pm
Sunday afternoon, get out and explore nature in a unique way. Go to Orleans Park in Perrysburg and try paddleboarding around the Audubon Islands. Paddle through the Maumee while observing local wildlife.
All equipment and paddleboards are provided. Be careful to get wet, wear old tennis shoes and avoid flip flops, wear sunscreen, and bring a change of clothes and a towel.
