Patrik Laine, Columbus Set to Find Offense
6 hours agoColumbus Blue Jackets winger Patrik Laine has scored in just one of his last seven games but should be back on track next week. The timeline for Columbus isn’t particularly good with only three games to play, but there are two poor penalty teams out there that should help the team score again. Sunday’s 3-1 loss to Nashville was the fourth time in their last five games that the Blue Jackets have scored two or fewer goals. They should put an end to the drop in ratings on Tuesday against the Red Wings, who score the eighth most goals in the league and whose penalty shoot-out is the second worst in the NHL. Laine & Co. will then play two games against the Dallas Stars, who also have problems and only killed 78 percent of the penalties. Laine has scored half of his six goals with the man advantage since arriving in Columbus. Other Columbus strikers like Cam Atkinson and Oliver Bjorkstrand are also seasoned goalscorers and should be targeted for next week.
