Minneapolis (WCCO) – A mural that celebrates the memory of George Floyd In Toledo, Ohio collapsed after being struck by lightning on Tuesday.
According to CBS subsidiary WTOL, Local officials responded on Summit Street and Lagrange Street after lightning struck the side of the building in the mural. The brick wall collapsed to rubble along with the main part of the mural.

This work was created a year ago by the artist David Ross. He said it was a memorial and a reminder never to forget the day Floyd died.

George Floyd died on May 25, 2020 after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck when he was arrested. Chauvin has since been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison.
Floyd’s death sparked a cry for racial equality and reform. Keep it up until today..
Toledo officials are reportedly planning to put a new mural in a new location.
