WATERLOO – Josh Merrifield kicked off a four-hitter to give Waterloo Columbus a 10-0 win over Dike-New Hartford on Friday.

Merrifield didn’t go and hit two in the six-inning game.

The Wolverines bounced back and won the nightcap 5-4.

In the first game, Carter Gallagher doubled up twice and drove in three runs. Caden Hartz and Connor Knudtson each drove in two races. Myles Gardner was 3 for 3 with three runs for the Sailors.

In the second game, DNH used a second with four passes to take control and stopped the sailors late.

Alex Feldmann played 3 for 4 for Columbus. Gallagher, Gardner, Hartz and Knudtson all had two hits.

Nathan Moore drove for the Wolverines in two races.
