GILBERTVILLE – In action at the Don Bosco Invitational, Columbus lost Columbus late to East Marshall (5-4) before defeating Kee of Lansing (18-3) on Friday’s opening day.
Against Kee, the Sailors let five players ride in two rounds – Katie Ruden, Reagan Lindsay, Alli Hagness, Morgan Bradley, Sophie Meier, Haile Frost and Kamryn Regenold.
In their first game, the Sailors (20-7) saw the Mustangs score twice for a 5-4 win in the lower part of the seventh.
Ruden, Lindsay and Sydney Gardner each competed in runs for the Sailors. Gardner and Avery Hogan had doppelgangers.
