“Every time there is domestic violence, it’s a pointless death,” said Reis. “We know that more victims are killed when they leave a relationship or when they have left a relationship than ever before. Hope Harbor is the local emergency shelter and support program for domestic violence. That’s why we have one of the largest emergency shelters for victims and their children in the state of Georgia and a relief program in which we support victims who still need support services to move past the violence. It makes me incredibly sad that the community even has to deal with domestic violence, even better that individuals have to deal with it. “
