BEREA, Ohio – Kevin Stefanski stated Wednesday that Myles Garretts basketball career has officially ended.
“He went into retirement,” the Cleveland Browns The coach said when asked if he could play that much pick-up basketball this off-season with his Star Pass Rusher. “So congratulations on a great career for Myles. Really proud of him. But he’s done.”
That off-season, the Browns All-Pro posted several videos on social media playing basketball. It all started in February when Garrett asked Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban if he needed a “big watch.” Garrett attached a pick-up highlight roll to the post.

Most recently, Garrett tweeted a video of him dribbling behind his back and then diving one hand over two unfortunate defenders. Above the video he wrote “Aight I’m going back to football” with a laughing emoji.

Last summer, Garrett signed the then-richest non-quarterback contract extension, valued at $ 100 million in guaranteed money. Stefanski wouldn’t say if he needs to talk to Garrett about retiring from basketball. But Garrett jokingly put off that it would ever become permanent.
“I feel like it’s more like Jordan stepping down,” Garrett said using the basketball reference. “Now I have to go back to what I am good at, what I usually do, play football, rush the passerby, stop the run.
âBut you never know next season. I could play basketball again, play baseball, see if I can get on a team. But at the moment there is more on the horizon (with football). which is my main focus. “
