CINCINNATI – A cicada in love was blamed for a car accident in Ohio.
The insect flew through an open window and hit the driver in the face on Monday night, Cincinnati police said. The driver drove off Riverside Drive, hit a power pole and damaged the vehicle.
The driver suffered minor injuries but the police tweeted photos shows that the car was badly damaged.
Cincinnati is teeming with cicadas. You are part of Brood Xemerging from the ground to mate every 17 years.
The police advised drivers to keep the windows closed for the time being.
