Youngstown native Kelly Pavlik inducted into Atlantic Metropolis Boxing Corridor of Fame


ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey (WKBN) – Kelly “The Ghost” Pavlik, originally from Youngstown, was inducted into the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame at the Hard Rock Casino on Sunday.

Both the 2020 and 2021 grades have been included. Pavlik is part of the 2021 class.

Pavlik fought four times in Atlantic City and set a 2-2 record.

But one of his most memorable bouts of his career took place in town when he defeated Jermain Taylor for the WBC and WBO world middleweight titles in 2007.

Pavlik also defeated Gary Lockett in Atlantic City the following year.

His two defeats went to Bernard Hopkins (2008) and Sergio Martinez (2010)

Pavlik ended his professional career 40-2 with 34 KO’s.
