YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Youngstown City Council Finance Committee met for more than two hours Monday evening to work out details of the 2021 budget.

The meeting began with the forwarding of a grant for planning updates to Glenwood Avenue to the entire council.

The committee also discussed salary increases for the city’s finance and legal directors. The increase for the new Finance Director was made possible by combining the roles of that position with the Assistant Director.

Mayor Tito Brown said he wanted to raise the legal director’s salary to attract and retain talent for the future.

“We tried to bring in a lawyer and to be honest they are doing six-digit numbers in other law firms to negotiate,” he said.

Brown named Jeff Limbian as the current legal director.

The regulations to raise salaries for both the legal and finance directors have been submitted to the full council for approval.
