Kennadi Lakins put together an explosive all-round game to lead the Crothersville girls’ basketball team to a 63-44 home win over Columbus Christian on Friday night.

The Tigers quickly recovered from a 14-13 deficit in the first quarter, then took it over and ran away with the game late after leading 44-38 after three periods.

Lakins collected 16 points, 11 rebounds, eight steals and seven assists.

The Tigers (4-8) had three double-digit goalscorers and came through aggressively on the boards.

Addy Cole had 19 points, eight rebounds for Crothersville, but no sales either. Grace Wilson added 13 points.

Crothersville’s other scorers were Zoe Spangler with seven points (and six rebounds), Elayna Ord with four points (and seven rebounds) and Ella Plasse and Tiessa Stevens with two points each.

Due to previous postponements related to the coronavirus quarantine, the girls will have games on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
