Youness Mokhtar indicators for Eredivisie aspect ADO Den Haag after Columbus Crew SC stint

After seeing his 2021 contract option turned down, he was earlier Columbus Crew SC Winger Youness Mokhtar has signed with Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag, the club announced on Monday.

Mokhtar joined Columbus during the 2019 summer transfer window and ended with four goals and one assist in 27 games (15 starts). His contributions dwindled when Columbus won the 2020 MLS Cup as he failed to appear in the Audi MLS Cup playoffs.

Before coming to Columbus, Mokhtar went through the youth system of PSV Eindhoven and played for Dutch clubs such as PEC Zwolle and FC Twente. The 29-year-old Mokhtar was represented in various youth national teams for Morocco and the Netherlands. He was a free agent before signing for Crew SC, with Norwegian Stabaek being his last stint before MLS.

When Mokhtar returns home with MLS Cup cutlery, Columbus is not short of options. Pedro Santos, Luis Diaz and Derrick Etienne Jr. are all key pieces from their 2020 roster while they are also signed Kevin Molino played as a free agent after Trinidad & Tobago Minnesota United FC.
