MOUNT PLEASANT, me. – The Central Michigan volleyball team returns to the field this weekend when they play a two-game Mid-American Conference series at the Rockets’ Savage Arena in Toledo.
The Chippewas (7-7) and Rockets (3-8) open the series on Friday (7pm) and end on Saturday (3pm).
The CMU suffered two home losses to the MAC-leading and undefeated bowling green. The Chippewas had won four games in a row when they entered the series with the Falcons, which are in the top 30 nationwide.

The Chippewas occupy sixth place in the MAC for kills per set (13.07) and lead the league in total kills (719). The CMU has played a league high of 55 sets and is fourth in the conference in blocks per set (2.11).
Chippewa midfielder Lisbeth Rosario-Martinez is the MAC’s most efficient batsman at 0.380. She is fourth in the league with 19 aces. CMU outside batsman Savannah Thompson is sixth in the MAC with 3.64 kills per set and seventh in points per set, 4.12.
Scouting
Toledo canceled a MAC match in Miami, Ohio on Tuesday and split two games in Eastern Michigan last weekend.
Toledo leads the MAC in blocks per set (2.65) and is 11th (11.61) in kills per set. Sophomore Olivia Vance leads the conference with 1.31 blocks per sentence.
The newcomer Taylor Alt is fifth in the MAC in the kills per set (3.74) and two Rockets are among the top 10 of the league in Assen: Rhyen Neal (15) is seventh and Abby Ray (8) is tenth.

The Chippewas will deviate from the MAC back-to-back format when entertaining Eastern Michigan in a match on Tuesday, March 16 (6pm) at McGuirk Arena. The CMU is scheduled to go to Ball State for two games on Friday and Saturday March 19-20.
