CLEVELAND – Sauce the City Cleveland doesn’t just claim to have Cleveland’s # 1 Chicken Sandwich. In fact, Chef Vic Searcy Jr. says he created the original Cleveland Hot Chicken Sandwich.
They took spices from all of the different cultures that were in Cleveland when it started. This includes Hungarian, Italian, African American, some Asian, and some Latin American flavors. Combine them and the result is a spicy, smoky and aromatic chicken sandwich that will delight you by your first name.
“If you see someone selling hot Cleveland chicken, tell them to say hi to Sauce the City because we really made it up,” Searcy said.
Sauce the City Cleveland’s Hot Chicken Sandwich is served with “Kooling” sauce, tossed in “Cleveland Hot Sauce”, topped with cabbage salad and sprinkled with a hint of “Cleveland Hot Seasoning”.
