TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A flagship summer program of the National Inventors Hall of Fame is being held this summer in Toledo at Grove Patterson.
“What the kids do is invent, create, all day long,” said camp director Kara Houser.
The goal of Camp Invention is to get children excited about science technology engineering and mathematics. This summer, the kids will take the devices apart and put them back together again.
“One of the best things it teaches them is to persevere, to do something,” said Houser. “You don’t give them instructions, they have to find out about what they have.”
Camp Invention takes place from June 14th to 18th for children in grades K-6.
The summer program is vital for children this year.
“We have time to reconcile. The more time you choose to include your kids and go to a camp like this, the better they get,” said Houser.
