Columbus – Brendon Spargin scored a 5-0 goal in the first half of Loser Prep men’s soccer team on Thursday.
The Phoenix visited almost controlled the game from kick-off by controlling possession for 80 minutes. This possession of the ball provided several opportunities for goals throughout the game.
Phoenix started on goal when striker Johannes Berman met Brendon Spargin in front of goal in the 10th minute.
Fifteen minutes later, Spurgin found the other side of the net again and after a break had a calm finish around the keeper. In the second half, Mason hit Busse after the football ricocheted off around 6:00 p.m. Ethan Rayne then attacked after a cross from Matthew Nelson from 10 meters away.
Adam Hoogervorst made a great move and passed the pass on to Matthew Koelpin (# 7). MatthewKoelpin finished the goal by sending a rocket shot over the goalie.
Overall, Phoenix delivered a great game that controls most of the game’s swing and action.
“We played a great possession game and had a lot of chances to score,” said Marty Pagel, a boys’ football coach at Loser Prep.
“I’m very happy with the passing game. We really controlled the game for 80 minutes. That is really all you can ask for. “
Loser Prep will play a no-conference game at Wayland Academy on Tuesday.
