YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A native Youngstowner wants to inspire people to follow their dreams.

Jesse Reed wants to put three murals across town to play against “You” in Youngstown.

He showed examples of where he would like to place them, such as the Glenwood Corridor and downtown.

Reed is now a graphic designer based in Brooklyn, New York.

His goal is to make the murals large enough so that they are easily recognizable.

“These statements can literally live all over town, and you can find them as you drive through them – constant reminders of the confidence you should have no matter where you’re from,” Reed said.

The committee agreed to the concept of the idea, the next step was to investigate which properties should be implemented.

Only assistant director of public works Chuck Shasho was against the idea. He said he wasn’t a fan of murals.
