COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – A drug investigation near Central Middle School in Columbus County resulted in the arrest of a man on multiple drug charges.
Dan Maurice Gowans, 26, is charged with the following charges:
- Sell / deliver cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school
- Crime of waiting a vehicle to hold / sell a controlled substance
- Two Cases of Sale / Delivery Offenses Schedule II Controlled Substance
- Possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, and supply a Schedule II Controlled Substance.
According to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, on March 16, Gowans was in the Hallsboro Courthouse at 89 School Road in Hallsboro. Gowans had a pending arrest warrant for the attack on a woman in addition to the above pending arrest warrants.
Gowans was taken to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Center, where he was processed and booked.
He received a secured bond of $ 306,500.00.
