Man Accused of Threatening to Burn Down Tribal Housing Advanced in Toledo Sentenced on Harassment, Housebreaking Expenses

A Kelso man who was charged with breaking into a residential complex of the Cowlitz Indian tribe in Toledo on Jan.

The defendant, John Threlfall, was charged with his sister at the 8th apartment complex, saying “he would kill everyone and burn the apartments down,” court documents read.

Threlfall was arrested after police responded to a break-in at the apartment building on block 100 off Spencer Road.

“I knowingly and illegally threatened to kill (my sister). The threat was made in such a context that a reasonable person would foresee that the statement would be interpreted as a sincere declaration of intent to kill and my words made (my sister) a reasonable fear that the threat would be carried out, ”Threlfall said in one Written Plea Guilty filed in Lewis County Superior Court on June 30th.

He did not admit threats against his mother or the residents of the apartment complex, but stated that he “illegally entered a building at 125 Spencer Road in Toledo and while I was inside I intended to commit the crime of To commit theft “.

Threlfall was sentenced to three months in prison with 49 days already served. Lewis County Supreme Court Justice Joely A. O’Rourke not only approved the conviction of Threlfell, but also approved domestic violence with no contact orders for the victims.

He was in custody at the Lewis County Jail Friday morning.
