YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (MyValleyTributes) – Flora A. Malovich, 88, a lifelong resident of the west side of the city, passed away peacefully at Gracewood’s Senior Living in Niles on Friday evening, February 19, 2021.
Flora was born in Youngstown on November 8, 1932, to the late Richard and Mary Loretta Hoffman Ortz and lived on North Richview Avenue in Youngstown for most of her life.
She attended Chaney High School and became a wife, mother, and housewife who devoted her adult life to raising and caring for her family.

In her younger years, Flora attended nearby St. Brendan’s Church in Youngstown and volunteered at the parish school.
Ms. Malovich enjoyed playing bingo and was a member of the St. George Croatian Fraternal Union, Lodge 66 on Vestal Road, Youngstown.
Flora’s 52-year-old husband John J. Malovich, whom she married on November 26, 1949, died on July 14, 2002.
She leaves her son Frank C. Malovich (Jennifer Meadows) from Youngstown; her grandson Anthony A. Malovich from Las Vegas; a sister, Mabel Seferiadis from Youngstown, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, the siblings Mary Lou Carrocce, Richard Ortz and Larry Ortz and a daughter-in-law, Kathryn E. Malovich, have died. A young son, John Malovich, died in childbirth.
At Flora’s request, private services will only be held for the immediate family on Saturday, February 27th Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, with burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman.
