East Cleveland, Ohio (WOIO) – Male police said they were responsible for the theft of a car with a two-year-old child in the back seat after the child returned.
This situation triggered a yellow alarm.
According to police, Gerald Tony, 40, a former friend of the boy’s mother, is the suspect.
Tony previously had an arrest warrant.
East Cleveland Police said the infant was in the back seat of a 2010 Ford Fusion when it was stolen from his mother’s driveway on Elderwood Avenue in East Cleveland on Monday.
Police said the infant, Major Johnson, was safe and was abandoned by a black SUV in the driveway of his mother’s house shortly after the Amber Alert was issued.
Tony’s last known address is 13,000 blocks on Superior Avenue in Cleveland.
Tony is 1.70 m tall and weighs 209 pounds, according to a police report.

The white 2010 Ford Fusion has a damaged front bumper and a black pocket on the sunroof.
