Stephen “Steve” James Naquin, 69, of Cleveland, died on Thursday, August 19, 2021, after an accident at a health facility in Chattanooga.
He was born on November 30, 1951 in Houma, LA. Steve worked in the oil fields while college and received his BS in electrical engineering from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX. Before graduating, he married Judy Tipton on May 15, 1974 in Jennings, LA.
He worked as an electrical engineer for Texas Instruments in Shreveport, LA and was transferred to Houston, TX. Steve eventually worked for Olin Chemicals in Lake Charles, LA, and moved with Olin to Cleveland, TN in 1989, and retired in 2020 after 40 years of service.
Steve enjoyed playing golf with his Olin friends. He was an “all-rounder” and constantly trained himself to do whatever task he needed. Steve also enjoyed playing the guitar, which he taught himself. He was a man of faith and loved studying the Bible. Steve was a loving husband, father, “dad”, son and brother.
His father, EA “Noc” Naquin, preceded him in death; Brother Wayne Anthony Naquin; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, WA Tipton, Sr. and Vera Tipton Vessel.
His 47-year-old wife Judy Maureen Tipton Naquin from Cleveland is remembered; his daughter Keri Naquin Cochran and her husband Chet of Oakdale, TN; his son Stephen Brandon Naquin and wife Megan of Cleveland; Grandson, Ellison “Ellie” Maureen Cochran, Owen Dean Cochran, and Madeleine James Naquin; Mother, Lillian Leger Naquin from Midland, TX; Sisters Amy Whiteaker (Buck) of Muscoda, WI and Jennifer Stewart (Eddie) of Midland, TX; Twin sister Stephanie Lentz of Round Rock, TX; Sisters-in-law, Marion Cooper from DeQuincy, LA and Karla Cart (Mark) from Humble, TX; Nieces and nephews, Deann, Melanie, Katie, Tiffany, Jordan, Josh, Ben, Deanna and Frank; Great nieces and nephews, Angel, Anthony, Maggie, Lily, Ashleigh, Paysen, Carson, Leslie, Blaise, Sydney, Emily, Chloe, and Alex; Great-great-niece Dylaina LeBlanc; several aunts, an uncle, and numerous cousins; and his loyal dog Penny Jane.
His family will receive friends at the Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, August 26, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The family is asking for memorials to be erected by the Cleveland Fire Department and EMT, Station 1, 555 S. Ocoee Street, Cleveland TN 37311.
