The 31-year-old was part of the Columbus MLS Cup winning team last year but got stuck behind the starter Eloy room. Lampson last appeared in an MLS game when he took up the 2019 season Minnesota United FC.

Lampson originally entered the league as a domestic player for Columbus in 2011 and spent the 2012-15 season with the club. Then he spent 2016-17 with Chicago Fire FC, 2018 with Minnesota and 2019 with the LA galaxy. All in all, he has conceded 16 goals in 61 appearances for the first team.
Lampson is a three-time winner of the MLS WORKS Humanitarian of the Year Award (2016, ’18, ’19). He founded the LampStrong Foundation in 2013 after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma at the age of 17.
