The Browns will soon open a position for a significant role on a special team.
Cleveland won’t offer restricted free agent linebacker Tae Davis, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.
Davis began his career with the Giants in 2018 as an unoccupied free agent from Chattanooga. When New York renounced him in the middle of the 2019 season, Cleveland claimed him and has been with the Browns ever since.
Davis played 51 percent of the Browns’ special team snaps in 2020 and appeared in 13 games. He has a total of 52 tackles, two defended passes and 2.0 sacks in 40 career games.
