Cincinnati Children’s Hospital is seeing a slow but steady increase in the number of patients being hospitalized for COVID-19. That’s what Chief of Staff Patty Manning, MD, says. This happens when the children go back to school, many in districts that do not require masks. Dr. Manning is concerned that this is a prescription for the transfer.
“Diseases are swirling around and we have tools that work. So I’m concerned that the number of kids we see positive tests in even before school starts will continue to grow. We have seen these stories from across the country of hundreds of children being quarantined for exposure within days of starting school. “
