Tuesday Night City Hall was lit Tuesday night to aid the peaceful change of government as new President Joe Biden prepares to be sworn in on Wednesday.

“When I asked my fellow councilors to support these night lights, I couldn’t imagine what would happen on Capitol Hill on January 6,” said Democratic councilor David Mann the storming of the US Capitol by a group of rioters. “As a former Navy veteran, mayor and congressman, and councilor, I am appalled by these events. It is a clear departure from our history of being the world’s envy of our constitution.”

The lights of Cincinnati City Hall will remain lit overnight between January 19 and 20, 2021 to celebrate the peaceful transfer of power by the President of the United States of America that can be seen downtown on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.
