On the same day that former Bengali star AJ Green agreed to terms with the Cardinals, the organization has its sights set on the best recipient for free agents.

Cincinnati hopes to land Lions recipient Kenny Golladay. They officially made him an offer, according to ESPN’s Diana Russini.

Brian Callahan, Cincinnati offensive coordinator, was in Detroit when Golladay was a freshman. The Bengals offered Golladay a one-year proof-it deal, according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.

The 27-year-old has planned a visit to the New York Giants, who are also interested in the Pro Bowler.

Golladay appeared in just five games for the Lions last season due to hip and thigh injuries. In 2018-19, he released two consecutive seasons of 1,000 yards.

Golladay led the NFL with 11 touchdowns in 2019. He averaged 18.3 yards per catch and would give Joe Burrow a real deep threat.

At 6-4, 214 pounds, Golladay has the size and radius of catch to win in competitive fishing situations.

A trio of Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, and Golladay would give the Bengals one of the best and most physical receiving units in the NFL.

If Cincinnati wants to sign Golladay they have to try to get a deal asap.

A one-year deal with a team like the Bengals might make sense to him. It would enable Golladay to show that he is healthy after an injury-related season. He could post big numbers on Burrow and retest the market if the salary cap is much higher in 2022.
