Cincinnati animal shelter throws lovable celebration for 19-year-old senior cat

A 19-year-old cat from a Cincinnati animal shelter celebrated its 19th birthday on Tuesday. Cincinnati Animal CARE employees hosted a birthday party for senior cat Sammy at home to celebrate his golden years. “But the only rule to adopt Sammy? The shelter said Sammy was looking for a nice, quiet home to spend his golden years.

“But the only rule to adopt Sammy? You have to give him a 20th birthday party on 6/15/22!” wrote the shelter on Facebook on Tuesday.

“We have dogs in emergency shelters, dogs live in our offices, employees look after animals, but they just keep coming in,” wrote the employees in a Facebook post.

They are open daily from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Northside at 3949 Colerain Ave.

No appointments are necessary to meet dogs at the shelter.
