Bleacher Report thinks Cincinnati Bengals ought to commerce for Tyrell Crosby

That Cincinnati Bengal did what they could do this off-season to polish them up Offensive line, a unit that wasn’t very good a season ago. The fans aren’t the most confident in this group despite the changes, but it’s not too late for the Bengals to take a splash and try to really get the ball rolling along the O-Line.

Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report made a list he made up a trade every team should make before the season starts in September. The Bengals were trading Lions Offensive Tackle, Tyrell Crosby.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Lions placed former right tackle Tyrell Crosby on the trading bloc after picking Penei Sewell with this year’s number 7. Ironically, Crosby only became available because the Bengals passed Sewell on. The 25-year-old can serve as the Cincinnati’s swing tackle or take a starting spot if Reiff is comfortable working as a security guard, depending on how others develop.

The Lions took Penei Sewell after the Bengals lost him in the first round and Crosby is now available in stores. Gagnon notes that Crosby could be a swing tackle for the Bengals or move into the start right tackle spot if Riley Reiff is comfortable kicking inside to protect.

While I’m not against this hypothetical trade taking place, Reiff has been brought in specially designed to play tackle properly Hence, trading another correct device may not be the best move. Moving Reiff inward to the Guardian is sure to be an option, but switching from Tackle to Guardian isn’t like riding a bike – it’s not certain that Reiff could make that transition and play well there.

Should the Cincinnati Bengals swap Tyrell Crosby?

Crosby is a former five-round pick from Oregon and has had the right tackle his entire career. He has 18 starts under his belt and has played a total of 38 games (all in Detroit) in his three-year career. He’s a decent player, but honestly, that trade doesn’t make much sense to Cincinnati.

Sure, Reiff only signed a one-year deal, but the Bengals picked D’Ante Smith in the fourth round in hopes that he might be the starter at the real tackle.

The Bengals still have some work to do on their offensive, but this isn’t a deal that will truly excite everyone.
