Daily growler leaves Polaris
December 27th marked the end for The Daily Growler in the Food Hall at Polaris Fashion Place.
“We were so optimistic about our second year at Polaris! We had a lot of momentum from our first holiday season and worked with PFP on a number of spring and summer events … then the first shutdowns occurred, ”owner John W. Blakely said in a press release. “We tried to reopen a few times, but with limited opening times and such a small footprint, it turned out to be a Sisyphean endeavor. Like many companies forced to close due to the pandemic, we will probably always wonder what if this location happened.
The Daily Growler was opened at Polaris in February 2019. The locations in Upper Arlington, Powell and the Brewery District will remain open.

Piada is partnering with the LeBron James Family Foundation to facilitate Piada Gives launch
Columbus-based Italian fast-casual restaurant Piada is launching Piada Gives, an opt-in fundraising program that benefits organizations that support the root causes of the restaurant: cancer research, education, eradicating food insecurity and social equality.
The first benefactor of Piada Gives will be the LeBron James Family Foundation, an Akron-based organization that provides essential resources, comprehensive support and programs to help children and families thrive.
To take part in Piada Gives, guests can download the new Piada One app and select “Log in to Piada Gives” in the app settings. The app automatically donates 1% of every purchase made by guests who sign up for a charity or nonprofit, which has an impact.
The income raised by the end of March will support LJFF.
“Service is at the heart of what we do at Piada, but it means so much more than providing the guest with an exceptional experience and delicious food,” said Matt Harding, Piada senior vice president of culinary and menu innovation. “It means helping our guests by building our communities, and we can do that by supporting incredible organizations like the LeBron James Family Foundation.”
