Automobile stolen at gunpoint in Euclid later crashes after pursuit with Cleveland Heights police

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio – A stolen vehicle used in a major robbery in Euclid crashed in Cleveland Heights Thursday night, according to the Cleveland Heights Police Department.

At around 8:42 am, a Cleveland Heights police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. The vehicle refused to stop for officers.

The officer followed the vehicle, but ended the chase. After the chase was over, the vehicle crashed on Yellowstone Road.

Officials surrounded the crashed vehicle and arrested an adult man and a teenage girl.

The teenager was accused of obstructing official business and obtaining stolen property. She was later placed in her mother’s care, police said.

The adult man remains in custody.

It is unclear when the vehicle was stolen in Euclid.
