American Airways suspends service from Toledo to Charlotte

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A popular Toledo to Charlotte airline has been suspended due to a decision by American Airlines.

The service to Charlotte Douglas International Airport from Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport will be discontinued from November 2021. The decision was made by the airline and not the Port Authority, according to Holly Kemler, Port Authority communications director.

“We know that this route is receiving increasing community support as passengers resume their voyages after the COVID-19 pandemic,” Kemler said in an email. “We are in contact with American Airlines regarding routing decisions linking Toledo with Charlotte and other hubs and we hope that American Airlines will resume air traffic to CLT once market conditions recover.”

American Airlines started flying from Toledo to Charlotte in August 2017.
