Amazon is adding three more delivery stations in Columbus to expedite deliveries to customers.
The delivery stations will create hundreds of jobs. Wages start at $ 15 per hour plus benefits that start on the first day of work.
Amazon will open a delivery station at 6565 Busch Blvd. later that year. The other new stations that have already opened are located at 510 Sunbury Rd. And 6201 Collins Dr.
The stations work with small businesses through the Amazon Delivery Service Partner program.
Delivery stations are behind the last mile of Amazon’s order fulfillment process.
Parcels are transported from Amazon distribution and sorting centers to delivery stations and then loaded into vehicles for delivery.
The new delivery stations connect eight existing Amazon locations in the Columbus region. Amazon has more than 250 delivery stations in the US
“We are excited to continue investing in the state of Ohio with the introduction of three new delivery stations in 2021 to enable efficient delivery to customers and create hundreds of job opportunities for the state’s talented workforce,” said Jessica Pawl, spokeswoman for Amazon in a statement.
Amazon said that each new delivery station will be designed for electric delivery vehicles. Amazon plans to have 10,000 electric delivery vehicles on the road by 2022.
The new channels are the latest in a string of investments that Amazon has made in Ohio.
Since 2010, Amazon has invested $ 5.9 billion in Ohio, including infrastructure and compensation for Amazon’s 41,000 full-time and part-time jobs in the state.
